More than 1,000 homes in south Armagh are without power after an electricity pole caught fire this afternoon (Sunday).
NI Electric say 1,056 homes have been cut off following the issue in the Poyntzpass area, which was reported at 3.20pm.
Sinn Fein councillor Oonagh Magennis said: “An electricity pole has caught fire on the outskirts of Poyntzpass and due to safety reasons the electric has been cut off for around 1,000 homes in the area.
“NIE are estimating it will be off until 6.30pm.”
