Ireland rugby captain Rory Best officially opens new Co Armagh Lidl store

New store will employ up to 30 staff

Lidl’s ‘newest’ Co Armagh store officially opened its doors to the public today (Thursday).

And on hand to cut the ribbon was Ireland rugby captain Rory Best.

The brand new build at Pinehurst Retail Park will see an additional 10 jobs – employing 30 – to its store following its relocation from its previous location on Castle Lane in Lurgan.

Lidl first arrived in the town in December, 1999 – the German company’s fifth store in Northern Ireland at the time.

Nicola Fullen, Store Manager said: “We are delighted to open in a fantastic new high profile location in Lurgan.

“We are in the heart of a very vibrant community and the whole team looks forward to welcoming our existing customers to the new store and getting to know many new customers over the coming weeks.

“We have a fantastic state of the art, new store packed full of amazing value and quality products at market leading prices.”

Rory Best tweeted: “Delighted to open the new @lidl_ni store in Lurgan this morning. Good luck to the staff & all involved.”
