A child was left with a serious eye injury in a series of attacks being linked to rival drugs gangs in Lurgan.
Sinn Féin Councillor Keith Haughian said he is alarmed after a weekend of attacks, which he says stretched right from south to north Lurgan.
“These spate of attacks on cars and homes are part of an ongoing dispute between rival drug gangs,” said councillor Haughian.
“The perpetrators don’t care who is caught up in the campaign of violence, as innocent children and neighbours are impacted by the attacks.
“I am calling for extra police resources to be deployed to prevent further attacks in what appears to be an escalating situation.
In conclusion councillor Haughian said: “Reports suggest there maybe links to paramilitaries on both sides; if that is the case it makes the situation a lot more dangerous.”
