A road causing serious concerns in south Armagh has been earmarked to have work done.
Slieve Gullion Councillor Terry Hearty has said that Roads Service have confirmed that it is their intention to resurface sections of the Corliss Road in Crossmaglen.
The local Councillor made his comments after the road was inspected by Roads personnel.
“I recently highlighted the condition of the Corliss road and the serious concerns about the surface on various stretches of it to Department of Infrastructure Roads Officers,” he said.
“The road has been inspected and the local senior Roads Officer has confirmed it is their intention to resurface two sections of the road.
“The work is now included of their carriageway refurbishment program which will be prioritised and completed as funding becomes available.
“I will continue to monitor the situation regarding the refurbishment program listed by the local Roads Service Office and lobby to ensure that Corliss road Resurfacing is prioritised and carried out as soon as possible.”
