A man has been arrested following reports of an altercation in Banbridge last night (Tuesday) has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
The 33-year-old had been arrested following reports of an alleged incident in the Brookfield Meadow area of the town.
Earlier police said they were called to a report of a stabbing shortly after 6pm, but nobody presented with injuries consistent with being stabbed. A man and a woman received minor injuries, consistent with being assaulted.
It was subsequently reported that a 33-year-old man was located with a knife and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of a blade or point in a public place.
