Armagh man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Armagh Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

Thomas Lappin (32) of Woodford Heights, Armagh claimed Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £3,462 while failing to declare employment.

He was given a 12 month prison sentence suspended for two years.

Mr Lappin is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
