Man (54) dies following fatal road collision near Armagh-Louth border

A man has died following a multi-vehicle collision near the border of south Armagh on Tuesday morning.

It is understood three vehicles – two cars and a lorry – were involved in the collision which occurred at around 10.30am.

The 54-year-old passed away at the scene before he was transferred to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for a postmortem to take place.

The Concession Road between Culloville in County Armagh and Hackballscross in County Louth had been closed as a result of the collision on the N53.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and any other road users who were travelling on the N53 near Rassan between 10am and 11am on Tuesday to come forward.

Those with camera footage of the area during this time are asked to make it available to gardaí.
