A Richhill man who was found with his trousers round his knees after been seen on CCTV urinating in a car park was “completely out of it”, a court has heard.
The 23-year-old’s solicitor stated: “He has absolutely no memory of the incident, this was a case of a storm of difficulties come together in his personal life.”
Rhys Haughey, of Angela Crescent, pleaded guilty to indecent behaviour at Craigavon Magistrates’ on Wednesday.
Prosecution outlined that on September 28, at 11.30pm, police received a report of a male outside the Ashburn Hotel, in Lurgan, trying to start fights with door staff.
Whilst en route, officers received information that a male of a similar description had been spotted via CCTV urinating on a vehicle in the car park of the train station.
When police arrived, they found the man with his trousers round his knees in his boxer shorts; he initially refused to give details but was later identified as the defendant.
Haughey was arrested and taken to Lurgan Custody Suite, however, after head injuries were evident to the officers he was take to Craigavon Area Hospital.
Defence solicitor Patrick Madden stated: “He is embarrassed and ashamed of his actions, he was completely out of it, you can see that from when he was talking to police, he was talking gibberish.
“He has absolutely no memory of the incident; this was a case of a storm of difficulties come together in his personal life.”
Haughey was handed a conditional discharge for 12 months.
