Record breaking opening weekend for new Craigavon Omniplex

The new Omniplex cinema in Craigavon has broken all company records for an eight screen opening weekend with over 5000 admissions!

Paul John Anderson, Omniplex Operations Director, which has invested more than £5 million in the project, said he was delighted at the support the cinema received over the opening weekend from the greater Craigavon area.

“Not only are we proud to have brought up to 100 new jobs to the local population, we hope the state of the art cinema technology we have provided will be an added tourist attraction as well as a valuable local recreational amenity,” he said.cinema 1 small

The outgoing Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Colin McCusker paid a visit to the new Omniplex on the opening day and met many local residents as they paid their first visit to a local cinema.

The complex has eight cinema screens including the luxury Omniplex Maxx which offers 3D immersive wall to wall sound, floor to ceiling curved screen leather rockers for premium seating giving you the ultimate cinema experience.

A new 4,500sq ft restaurant, Bubba Drews which will seat 230 people and The Sassy Elephant coffee shop and ice-cream parlour will be open by June 2015.cinema 2 small

The Studio Grill will be open by mid-July.
