Sad day for coffee lovers as Chimes to close this month after 10 years in business

'Chimes is still on the market and hopefully will be purchased by someone who can continue serving great coffee and food with their own passions and ideas'

A popular Portadown coffee shop and restaurant is to close later this month after 10 years in business.

Chimes Coffee House in Church Street made the announcement on its Facebook page.

The family-owned business said the decision hadn’t been taken lightly but they felt “it is the best for our family”.

They added: “Chimes is still on the market and hopefully will be purchased by someone who can continue serving great coffee and food with their own passions and ideas.

“We would like to thank all our wonderful customers for their support over the past few years. Chimes wouldn’t have been the same without you all.”

The owners also thanked past and present staff, particularly for their support over the past few weeks.

Chimes will be closed for the July 12 week and will shut its doors for the final time on Friday, July 23.

The property is on the market for offers around £35,000.
