A Portadown man who closed the door on a Domino’s delivery driver and made no attempt to pay has been fined £100 with an immediate warrant put in place on this.

The 20-year-old’s barrister informed court that his client was a sentence prisoner at Hydebank and had not been produced via videolink.

Declan Shane Ward, of South Street, had a plea of guilty entered on his behalf to one count of theft at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Prosecution outlined that shortly after midnight on March 21, of last year, Domino’s in Portadown made a report of a theft to police.

They informed officers that an order of pizza to the value of £27.98 had been made to an address on South Street Portadown.

Upon delivery, this defendant was said to have taken the pizza before closing the door on the face of the driver and making no attempt to pay.

Deputy District Judge Chris Holmes made an immediate warrant for £100 for the offence.
