Police seize 12 dogs in Keady – seven had to be put down

Police in Armagh seized twelve terrier type dogs whilst on routine patrol in the Castleblayney Road area of Keady on Sunday, 3 November.

Officers observed a number of dogs at the property who they believe have been used for hunting. Seven of the dogs, on veterinary inspection, had to be euthanized due to the severity of their injuries. The remaining five dogs are currently inthe process of being rehomed.

Two males, aged 34 and 37 years old, were interviewed in relation to cruelty offences and a report is being prepared for the Public Prosecution Service.
