Police keen on info regarding altercation in county Armagh

Detectives in Craigavon are appealing for information following an incident in Kernan Avenue on Tuesday, March 10.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: “Around 3.12pm we received a report of suspicious activity in Kernan Avenue. Officers attended and found that two males had entered a house. An altercation took place in the house and two males made off in a white Volkswagen Golf.

“We stopped this car a short time later in Brownlow Terrace and a 21 year old man was arrested. He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information which may assist this investigation. We can be contacted in CID at Lurgan on 101, quoting ref 615 100315.”

Meanwhile, police in Craigavon have charged a man after he obstructed a drugs search.

Officers stopped a car in the Lakeview Court area on Wednesday afternoon, 4 march. The 34 year old male passenger was arrested for obstructing a drugs search. He was later charged to Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on 27 March.

As is normal procedure the charge will be reviewed by the PPS.

In a separate incident in Lurgan, police reported a man to the PPS.

Officers were conducting house to house enquiries in the Victoria Street area on Wednesday, 4 March, when they noticed a smell of cannabis from a flat in Victoria Street. A bag of cannabis buds was seized and a 19 year old man will be reported to the PPS.
