Overgrown pathway ‘totally unacceptable’ for residents and parents with young children

A young mother has spoken of her struggles to navigate an overgrown path with a pram near her home in Lurgan.

SDLP councillor Declan McAlinden has been contacted by a number of residents in the North Lurgan area in relation to the state of the pedestrian path that runs along the back of properties in Soye Crescent, Desmond Ave and also backs onto Clann Eireann football pitch.

Speaking to Armagh I he commented: “I have been contacted by parents who live in this area who have highlighted this issue with me.

“One parent explained how she struggled with a pram along this path due to overgrown shrubbery and litter.”

“This is totally unacceptable and I have been in touch with the relevant agencies to ensure that this is dealt with as a matter of urgency.

“I have requested that the shrubbery is cut back and that a litter pick is carried out in this area.”
