One further Covid-19 death but no further cases confirmed in past 24 hours

There has been one firther Covid-19 death in Northern Ireland over the last 24 hours, according to the Department of Health.

However, there have been no new reported cases of the coronavirus in the same period.

It means the death total rises to 546 with the number of positive cases remaining at 4,871.

Meanwhile, First minister Arlene Foster says the change in social distancing restrictions to one metre in England is “very significant”.

Ms foster said Northern Ireland will be looking closely at it and it is “important for NI Executive to consider the science of this decision”.
