Man due in court in Newry facing attempted murder and other charges

Newry Area Commander Davy Beck has confirmed that detectives in Newry have charged a 31-year-old man with attempted murder.

The man has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, a further charge of assault and assault on police.

He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Wednesday, morning.

The charges relate to an alleged incident in the Mourne View Park area of Newry yesterday, Monday, afternoon.
