Man attacked twice in just three days in Co Armagh

Two men in their 20s were attacked by a gang of four others armed with a wooden bat and a golf club.

One of those set upon was later attacked, days later, by three men with an iron bar.

Police in Lurgan have tonight appealed for information.

Constable Mike Currie said: “Around 1.30am on Friday, 10 April, a 23-year-old and 24-year-old male were assaulted by four unknown males in Charles Street. The assailants used a wooden bat and a golf club during the attack before making off in a small, silver car.

“In a second incident, the 23-year-old victim was again assaulted in the Charles Street area on Monday night, 13 April.

“It was reported that three males assaulted him with an iron bar and he sustained lacerations to his head. The three assailants then made off in a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this attack or has information in relation to it. We can be contacted in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 77 100415.”
