Machete allegedly used in Bessbrook altercation

Police in South Armagh have arrested two people following a disturbance in the Orior Park area of Bessbrook.

On Monday, 15 June, 2015, around 6.45pm, an altercation took place between a group of people.

It is alleged a machete and beer bottle were used.

A 41-year-old female and 41-year-old male were arrested for common assault, possession of an offensive weapon and attempted GBH.

They were later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Constable Michael Finucane said: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information that may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Newtownhamilton on 101, quoting ref: 1142 150615.”
