Help Find George: Co Armagh woman offers ‘substantial’ reward after dog goes missing in Portrush

A Co. Armagh woman is continuing to make a desperate appeal to help find her pet dog George who went missing in the Portrush area just over a week ago.

George the Schnauzer is a rescue dog from Almost Home NI and went missing from Skerries Caravan Park October 27.

His owner, Jenny Hanna from Lurgan, has spent the last eight days frantically searching and appealing for help in locating her dog.

A Facebook page ‘Help Find George’ has been set up and has already amassed more than 5,000 followers as people across the country join in the effort.

There have been possible sightings over the last few days, but as of yet, nothing has come to fruition.

Posting on Day 8 of the search, Jenny said: “I cannot explain how I feel. George is still away from home up around the North Coast and we are back at work here in Lurgan.

“It is just heartbreaking. I think about him and hope he is alive and safe. Thank you to those searching for our boy!
Just praying that he turns up soon.

“Keep checking for signs of George around your homes up there in Portrush area and beyond. His wee sister, Edith the French Bulldog, is looking all around the house and garden for her brother. She just can’t understand where he has gone. Keep the faith, Jenny x.”

Jenny described George, who she rescued three and a half years ago, as a lovely much-loved family pet.

As a rescue dog, she said he is nervous of men and will run from them, but more receptive to women.
