Gaelic club seeks planning permission for indoor 3G pitch

Magheralin GAA

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s planners are considering an application to bring an indoor 3G pitch to Magheralin.

Lodged by agent Martin Byrne on behalf of applicant St Michael’s GAC, the application seeks to erect club facilities including a 3G indoor pitch, changing rooms, community hall, kitchen and toilets at 12A Ballymacbredan Road.

According to the application form the 0.424 hectare site proposed for the development is currently “surplus land”.

The new building will use an existing unaltered access to a public road for both pedestrians and vehicles and surface water and foul sewage will be disposed of via the mains.

Water will also be supplied to the development via the mains.

At present, 20 vehicles attend the site on a daily basis and this results in 30 people attending the premises. These numbers are not expected to increase as a result of the development.

Received and validated on Monday, February 13 the application’s neighbour consultation period expires on Wednesday, March 8 and its standard consultation period will expire on Wednesday, March 15.

The application will be advertised until Saturday, March 25.
