Court appearance for man who refused to stop swearing after being warned by police

He told officers 'f*** you, check the CCTV'

A Lurgan man refused to stop swearing after being warned by police.

Michael McConville, 21, of Monbrief Walk, was convicted in his absence of disorderly behaviour at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Court heard police on patrol on August 6, of last year, spotted the defendant at around 1.45am on Church Place, Lurgan.

McConville appeared intoxicated and was using foul language.

The defendant was issued a warning by police but refused to lower his voice.

This continued as he told officers “f*** you, check the CCTV”.

McConville was then issued with a caution.

The defendant moved to the other side of the street but continued to shout.

McConville was ordered to pay a fine of £150 along with the offender’s levy of £15.
