Air Ambulance called to Lurgan after teenage boy falls on ice

A teenage boy slipped and fell on ice in Lurgan this morning (Wednesday).

The Northern Ireland Air Ambulance were tasked to the scene shortly before 9am.

It is understood the 16-year-old schoolboy lost consciousness as a result of the fall on William Street in the town.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said: “NIAS despatched an emergency crew to the scene.

“The Charity Air Ambulance HEMS team was also tasked to the incident.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, the patient was taken, by ambulance, to Craigavon Area Hospital.”
