One of Co Armagh’s most popular and well-known takeaways has gone on the market.
Ellen’s Fish and Chip shop, in the heart of Keady, has been placed up for sale as a going concern.
The business, which has been trading in the town for more than two decades, is highly regarded among residents both locally and miles around.
The fast food outlet is famed for its chicken fillet burgers and curry fillet boxes, among other things, with the news sure to surprise many of its loyal customer base.
Armagh I understand its owner, who has been trading on Market Street for more than 20 years, has decided to take a rest and put her feet up.
The business has been listed with Maison Real Estate as being on “the open market”.
The listing reads: “This extremely well known and established cafe has been operating for over 25 years and would be highly regarded as an excellent business.
“Ellen’s has undergone an extensive renovation and internal fit out a few years ago allowing the new owner the luxury of stepping into the business without having to invest heavily.
“It retains state of the art cooking machinery, appliances and fixtures and fittings.
“Accounts are readily available to view in our office on private appointment only. Please contact our Armagh office for any further details.”
We wish Ellen and all those who connected with the takeaway all the best going forward. Fingers crossed the curry fillet box remains!!
