Female jogger shaken by verbal abuse

A FEMALE jogger ran off after she was subjected to verbal abuse of a sexual nature from a man who confronted her in Armagh.

And police have now  issued a public appeal for help after the incident, which happened at the junction of College Street and Tower Hill at around 5.50pm on Tuesday.

Police say the man jumped out in front of her and shouted abusive language of a sexual nature in “a very aggressive manner”.

“The female was very shaken by the incident and managed to run on,” said a PSNI spokeswoman.

The man is described as being six feet tall. He was wearing a dark puffa-style jacket, dark coloured jogging bottoms, trainers and a winter hat, which had flaps at the side covering his ears.

“This road is generally busy and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident to contact them in Armagh on 0845 600 8000,” added the spokeswoman. “If you prefer to provide information without giving your details, you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
