Three men who are alleged to have attempted to grievously injure another male will face Crown Court proceedings later this year.

David Braniff, 25, of Old Forge Lodge in Craigavon, Niall Byrne, 22, of Sandown Park in Lisburn and Dylan Mawhinney, 19, of Clanrolla Park, all appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

All defendants are charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent on the same alleged injured party on November 23.

Standing in the dock the men submitted to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution stated that based on the papers before the court it had been found that there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence counsel for the defendants made no contrary submissions.

Braniff and Byrne were released on bail whilst Mawhinney was remanded in custody to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on October 15.
