A woman’s body has been recovered from Camlough Lake this afternoon (Tuesday).
The discovery was made at around lunchtime today.
Sinn Féin councillor for the area, Oonagh Magennis, commented: “Police have confirmed that a woman’ s body has been removed from Camlough Lake.
“This is tragic news and our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased lady’s family and friends.”
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police along with partner agencies attended Camlough lake this afternoon and removed the body of a woman from the water.
“At this time the death is not believed to be suspicious.”
There are no further details at this stage.
