A weather warning has been issued for icy conditions across Co Armagh.

After one of the mildest weeks ever in the run-up to Christmas, forecasters are warning that temperatures are set to drop dramatically.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning across CoArmagh which comes into effect from 4pm on Boxing Day.

It is due to be remain in place until 11am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.

The Met Office has warned: “Icy patches are expected to develop on untreated surfaces, pavements and cycle paths and where showers wash off treatment.

“Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces may occur.”

There is also the possibility of a mix of rain sleet and snow and warnings could be extended beyond tomorrow morning.

At this stage the outlook is showing temperatures starting to pick up again slightly by the weekend.
