A man who stole a set of car keys from a Moy pub crashed the stolen vehicle on the outskirts of the village towards Armagh on Friday night.

Police in Dungannon are appealing for the driver to hand himself.

CCTV images from The Ryandale on The Square in Moy show the assailant rifle through coat pockets around 10.30pm before making off with a set of car keys.

The car was later discovered crashed and abandoned just outside the village’s 30mph zone.

A PSNI spokesperson explained: “A gangster rifles through an unattended jacket, took keys, located the blue VW Jetta, tried to drive.. but crashed it, just outside the 30mph limit towards Armagh.

“Thank goodness for CCTV and also forensic testing of vehicles and airbags.”

They have asked the culprit hands himself in first or anyone who knows anything to come forward “before we come to you”.

Adding: “Keep track of your valuables whilst out and about folks! Please get in touch if you seen anything or have any information.”
