A business centred around convenient and healthy food, which began life as an idea shared between family and friends, has exploded onto the scene in Armagh.
Healthy Cave, based in the Gazette Arcade in Armagh city centre supplies freshly prepared, healthy meals to customers and shops all over.
Speaking to Armagh I, owner Connor Kelly explained how Healthy Cave has gone from strength to strength in such a short space of time.
“We had a base just outside Armagh which we quickly outgrew and since our move in October, the business has really grown,” said Connor.
“To be honest, the move to the city centre has been brilliant and I feel it’s something Armagh has been calling out for. The support from everyone has been fantastic.
“Convenience food has been around for a long time now, but we have ticked that next box – it’s good for you. No rubbish; just freshly prepared food by good chefs.”
The month of December was a prosperous one for the business and January already has seen demand sky-rocket, which has resulted in plans for a concerted recruitment drive in the coming weeks.
“January is a big time for us,” explained Connor. “It’s a great opportunity for us to reach some new faces who haven’t tried our meals before.”
Customers of Healthy Cave have been wowed by the food and feedback has been fantastic, something Connor says “has given us the motivation and little bit of extra energy”.
“When we started, we didn’t want this to be solely geared for the health and fitness market,” he added.
“We’re leaning towards a message of good healthy food that is simply convenient, something that everyone can relate too.
“We’re trying to change the way people think about eating. A healthy meal doesn’t have to be expensive, tasteless or boring at all, and our food is about challenging that misconception.”
Connor commented: “We try to cater to as many people and tastes as possible. Since our move to Armagh we have expanded our menu and added Vegan meals to our range, which has been very popular.”
The Healthy Cave offer collection points at various locations and offer a delivery service twice a week to postcodes BT60-62 and BT70-71.
